Surprisingly, our small village (“the best kept secret on Cape Cod”) has made its mark on the fashion map this summer. Osterville lends its name and its charm to a handbag by designer Tiffany Christian. Fashioned from a whimsical frog print toile and trimmed with pink canvas, the Osterville tote is part of Tiffany’s Cape Codder collection, which also features bags inspired by Hyannis, Chatham, and the Vineyard. Wendy Wheeler is the only boutique on mainland Cape Cod to offer these totes, as well as belts, from Tiffany Christian Designs. In addition, Osterville joins vacation spots everywhere from Palm Beach to Portofino in a line of cotton designs from Blissfully Unaware by Wendy Dinneen. These tees, sweats, and hats are embroidered with the name of a resort location and the slogan “blissfully unaware” – meant to evoke “a state of mind to be experienced in amazingly beautiful & ‘blissful’ places”. The slogan is represented in a different thread color for each place, and thus, the tees are a collector’s item. Wendy Wheeler exclusively offers “blissfully unaware Osterville” designs, embroidered in aqua.
